Re-Surfacing & Re-Naming

A whole new look!!!

New look, sooo many layers of coatings!

Spring 2022, the work begins. We had to address the pitting. Equipped with all kinds of sanding devices, we started. It became very clear that this would take years, so we quickly pivoted to have it sandblasted.

First the haul was professionally sandblasted to bare metal – pretty amazing sight! Then came weeks of applying multiple coats of protective primers and paints.  Neat to start seeing the evolution of the boat’s new look.

New name, home port

Then came the time for re-naming the boat – yes a controversial thing.  Nord Hus (North House) would become our home in the North. Adhering those letters and its home port was a pretty special moment.
