The last sail of the summer was intended to push our comfort zone. The saltless sea that is Lake Superior sure gave us what we sought!

Our goal was to finally get to Bayfield, so we did a wonderful loop from Grand Marais to ,Bayfield, Cornucopia and Knife River where the boat would be taken out of the water for the winter. We pushed the boat and our comfort zone, sailing in big seas. It was the shake down and confidence building that we needed!

We even had our first passengers on board for one of the legs - what a treat to share this speical moment with close friends Mick and Beth Endersbe.

We got to put our "wing on wing" set up with the whisker pole on a loverly downwind glide.

We even had our first experience of running the boat aground... it was a slow, gentle affair, but sure gets your heart beating!

Lots of time checking for shoals, changes in wind and making plans for the next day's plan.
