Villagers went to bid a farewell to the team and hunters as they departed Qaanaaq headed to Siorapaluk. Listen below to the first calls in after their departure 6 days ago:

The team has no doubt struggled with climate change taking its toll on the terrain they're traveling. After several sections of impassible ice, sledge failure, exhaustion and incoming weather conditions, the dog team had to turn back.

Pascale, Scott and Jayme continued on by skis, hauling their gear with pulks. Trying ice conditions are forcing the team to reevaluate the planned route. Listen in to the above audios to hear the details of their past days and their next moves.
